What does it cost to check the Robinson list?

Three ways to check your lists against the Danish Robinson list and what they cost: buy the list from CPR, pay per list, or an annual plan.

Short answer

If you buy the Robinson list from the CPR register, you pay CPR's costs and must match it against your lists yourselves every quarter. With Robinsontjek a list costs DKK 995 up to 500 rows and DKK 5,000 above 500 rows, and an annual plan costs DKK 15,000 (about EUR 2,000) for unlimited lists. All prices exclude VAT.

The price is rarely what decides it. What decides it is how much of the work you want to do yourselves, and how often you send or call.

Why the check costs something

If you send marketing with a name and address, or make sales calls in the few cases where they are lawful, you must first check whether the person is on the Robinson list (Marketing Practices Act s. 10(4)). The CPR register publishes a new edition every quarter (CPR Act s. 40(4)). So the check has to be repeated for as long as you use the list.

1. Buy the list from CPR

Businesses are entitled to a copy of the Robinson list from the CPR register for a fee that covers the cost of supplying it (CPR Act s. 40(5)). It is the cheapest way in kroner, but not in hours:

  • You get a large file every quarter and must load it yourselves.
  • You must match names and addresses yourselves. This is where it most often goes wrong, because the same address is rarely written the same way twice. "Nørregade 4, 2. tv." and "Nørregade 4 2TV" are the same flat.
  • The list may not be passed on. You can't send it to your call centre or print house so they can check for you.
  • You must be able to document when, and against which edition, you checked.

This suits businesses with a developer who can build and maintain the matching, and enough lists to make it worthwhile.

2. Pay per list

A single list costs DKK 995 up to 500 rows and DKK 5,000 above 500 rows. You get your own file back with an answer on every row, and a check receipt.

This suits you if you send a campaign or two a year.

3. The annual plan

DKK 15,000 a year for everything: setup, integration, API, unlimited lists, a receipt for every check, and support. We connect to what you already use, so lists are checked by themselves on the way to the print house or dialer.

This suits you if you send or call all year, or have lists that live for months and must be checked again every quarter.

When does the annual plan pay off?

Three lists above 500 rows cost the same as the annual plan. If you check more than three large lists a year, the annual plan is cheapest. The same goes for one large list that must be rechecked every quarter: four checks a year at DKK 5,000 is DKK 20,000.

What is not included

Two things are available as add-ons by agreement and are not in the price:

What does it cost not to check?

A company was fined DKK 40,000 in 2020 for calling four people on the Robinson list. A sale made on an unlawful call also does not bind the consumer. See Danish fines for unlawful sales calls.

Questions and answers

Is VAT added?

Prices exclude VAT. We invoice from Portugal. EU businesses with a valid VAT number pay no VAT to us and account for it themselves under the reverse-charge rules. Outside the EU, no VAT is added.

Can we start with one list and switch to the annual plan later?

Yes. Write to us when you want to switch.

Is there a lock-in?

The annual plan runs for 12 months at a time and renews automatically. You can cancel to the end of the period with 30 days' notice. A single list is a one-off purchase with no commitment.

Does a new Robinson list cost extra?

Not on the annual plan. If you buy per list, checking the same list again is a new order.
