We check every call list and address list against the Robinson list before it is used. 2. Every row shows what we found, and rows at or above your level are held out. 3. Every list gets a check receipt with date and list edition. 4. Saved lists are checked again when a new Robinson list comes out. ## The fines in the energy sector Two of the largest sales-call cases in recent years involved electricity suppliers. They were about calls without valid consent, not the Robinson list: - **April 2025:** Grøn Elforsyning paid a fine of DKK 700,000. 27 consumers had been called without valid consent, and 17 had been misled ([Consumer Ombudsman](https://forbrugerombudsmanden.dk/nyheder/forbrugerombudsmanden/pressemeddelelser/2025/20250402-groen-elforsyning-betaler-boede-paa-700000-kroner-for-ulovligt-telefonsalg-og-vildledning-af-forbrugerne)). - **January 2026:** Modstrøm paid a fine of DKK 400,000 for calling 27 consumers without valid consent and misleading eight ([Consumer Ombudsman](https://forbrugerombudsmanden.dk/nyheder/forbrugerombudsmanden/pressemeddelelser/2026/20260108-modstroem-betaler-400000-kroner-i-boede-for-ulovligt-telefonsalg-og-vildledning)). - **July 2026:** the Ombudsman reported the company behind Grøn Elforsyning, now ENLY, to the police again. The company had bought consents from partners, and the Ombudsman does not consider them valid ([Consumer Ombudsman](https://forbrugerombudsmanden.dk/menu/nyheder-og-presse/pressemeddelelser/pressemeddelelser/2026/20260709-forbrugerombudsmanden-politianmelder-igen-groen-elforsyning-as-nu-enly-as-for-ulovligt-telefonsalg-og-vildledning)). The case has not been decided. ## The rules for energy companies Selling electricity, gas or heating is not one of the exceptions in section 4 of the Consumer Contracts Act ([retsinformation.dk](https://www.retsinformation.dk/eli/lta/2025/1184)). So you may only call consumers who asked in advance, explicitly, to be called by you. If you bought the consent, it is still your responsibility that it holds. For addressed mail the Robinson list applies directly: if the recipient is on it, you may not send marketing with their name and address. ## What we can do for you Robinsontjek does not assess your consents. Only you and your lawyers can. But we can make sure no list is used without being checked against the Robinson list: - **Addressed mail:** every list is checked before it goes to print. People on the list are left out. - **Sales calls:** every call list is checked. Write to us and we'll set the check up. ## Questions and answers ### May energy companies call consumers? Only consumers who asked, in advance and explicitly, to be called. Selling electricity is not one of the exceptions in the Consumer Contracts Act. ### What does the Robinson list have to do with selling electricity by phone? Robinsontjek can't judge whether your consents are valid. But we can show which people also opted out of marketing through the Robinson list. Those are the ones where your documentation must be in perfect order. For addressed mail, the Robinson list is decisive in itself. ### What have the fines been? Grøn Elforsyning paid DKK 700,000 in April 2025, and Modstrøm paid DKK 400,000 in January 2026.
